Horace and Gerald Flecknell, father and son.

The photograph records Horace Flecknell receiving recognition for 29 years’ service at The Blue Circle Cement Works on his retirement.

Horace Flecknell lived on the corner of St Andrew's Lane (previously known as Easthill Lane). He passed away late 70's and is buried in All Saints churchyard. The Flecknell's have been traced back generations in Houghton Regis to the 1600s in the  family tree of  Sara Butler.
