015 No fortress

No Fortress
A tiny tongue holds fast the ancient door
yet a child can open its bastion.
For this is no fortress;
the stronghold is within -
a fleshy citadel
not stone bulwark.
Through the door
light walks;
in the day
it courses sun-powered
into cool forgetfulness,
at night
candled prayers flow out.
