1960s Children Scavenging in the Dried Up Pond Sundon Road Houghton Regis

The second large pond in Sundon Road became a happy hunting ground for children to search through the rubbish strewn in it. It became very unsightly and dangerous and was eventually fenced-off in  1970 (click here to view an earlier picture and the fenced-off area) and subsequently built on.
