1964 Interior of the 14th/15th Century Tithe Barn (now Demolished) Houghton Regis

The interior of the 14th or 15th century Tithe Barn Houghton Regis. It is thought to have been built by Abbot John Moore in 1396 - 140.

The barn was so large that a farm-wagon could be driven straight in through the doors. At the beginning of the century Sunday School Treats were held there.

It was torn down in 1964. A travesty demolishing such an important building to make way for the Bedford Square shopping centre.
