This is a postcard sent by a soldier billeted on the Green, to his girlfriend in Ipswich. He writes: "This is a view of the main street of Houghton Regis which leads to our camp. It is fearfully cold here today and was ever so dark early this morning. Did you hear the Zepps (Zeppelin Airships) during the last raid?"
