A view of Houghton Regis from the top of the smaller chimney at the Blue Circle Cement Works, just before it was demolished in 1976.

The top rung of the ladder can be seen across the bottom of the photograph.

Townsend Farm is just in the foreground shortly before it too was demolished. To the right is the former Netto building, then Morrisons and subsequently demolished.

Mill Road runs off the High Street to the left. At the centre of the photograph is Houghton Regis Lower School, now Houghton Regis Primary School.
