1908 Sheep Grazing on the Green

A photograph of the Green, taken about 1908 showing parts of the old Thomas Whitehead School to the left and the Red House next door. All Saints church tower appears in the centre with Tithe Farm House to the right.

The sheep are black faced Suffolks from Poynters Farm and were regularly grazed on the Green. The Shepherd is probably Shepherd Ward.
