This is a coloured version of Chas.Smy's postcard print of the High Street, dated January 1916 and sent to Peterborough. The Postcard says 'Dear M..., have not been able to get leave for Sunday. Am A1. Will write soon
In the picture can be seen Mr Bandy's greengrocery shop, Wrights Yard is also on the left. The old kings arms on the right was burnt down in 1936.
The original postcard appeared around 1895 hand tinted.
