Line drawing by Elizabeth Lowen of All Saints Church Houghton Regis depicting what the church may have looked like in the 13th/14th century, taken from the Book Royal Houghton by Pat Lovering.
A steeply-pitched roof over the nave. The old roof line can be seen clearly today on the outside of the tower's eastern wall. The roof may have been thatched or covered in wooden shingles. It would have looked rather plain.
