A photograph taken in 1934 of the lock-up built on the end of Workhouse Row (the Alms Houses) now demolished and is a car park in front of All Saints Church.
It was used to detain drunks and petty criminals overnight before being taken to Luton police station.
The door to the former lock-up can now be found on display at Stockwood Discovery Museum, Luton.
