Joint Winner - Houghton Hall Parkrun (Junior & Adult)

I am delighted to nominate Houghton Hall Parkrun, both the Junior and Adult events, for the Pride of Houghton Regis Award for Best Local Group. This incredible volunteer-led initiative has become a cornerstone of the community, bringing people together every Saturday and Sunday to run, walk, and support one another in a friendly and welcoming environment.

In February this year, both the Junior and Adult Parkruns celebrated their 300th events; a remarkable milestone that reflects the dedication of the organisers, volunteers, and participants who make it all possible. Through rain or shine, Houghton Hall Parkrun continues to encourage people of all ages and abilities to stay active, improve their wellbeing, and build lasting friendships.

Beyond being just a weekly event, Houghton Hall Parkrun is a true community-driven movement, fostering a spirit of inclusivity, perseverance, and mutual support. The group’s commitment to promoting health, fitness, and social connection has had a lasting impact on the lives of countless residents, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere for everyone who participates.
